Malaysia, the latest international fool… is doing it again !  According to Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, the homely & caring Malaysian Women’s Minister ( arghh ! ), the country is mulling an international conference on caning and whether it is an appropriate punishment for women under Islamic law.

Just this month, a shariah court had ordered the caning of three women for adultery. The more laughable case of Kartika Dewi Shukarni, a part-time model/young mother who was ordered by a shariah court to be caned for drinking beer is still hanging loose while the Regent of Pahang takes his time ( as long as it takes ) to decide how to treat the matter.

Meanwhile the Great Malaysia Circus Circuit continues in full steam, as charismatic opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim’s laugh-every-sec sodomy court case with a coffeeboy ( no beer puh-lizzz )  rages on, torturing Anwar’s wheelchair-bound Defence Attorney Kapal Singh as he slips at every twist & turn. In January 2010, small violence erupted as 11 churches and some temples were vandalised in the wake of a high court judge’s decision to allow the Malaysian Catholic Church to use the word Allah as a synonym for God in its Malay-language editions of its newspaper, the Catholic Herald.

Just 2 days ago, at a sinister Malaysia Law Conference supposedly costing RM-a-few-millions held in Washington , USA 2 days ago, attended by… it was said only about 40 or so half-sleeping spectators …2 of the 3 scheduled Malaysian speakers went MIA, as our esteemed ambassodor & co-organiser JJ passed his arduous time catching up on the day’s Washington Post.
